Practice Locations: NSW – Bondi

Rachel is an empathic, present, non-judgemental and open minded therapist. She has experience helping people with managing challenging transitions in life, especially those related to relationship and health related issues. Sometimes symptoms of anxiety, depression and stress can be a challenge even if the cause isn’t obvious. She has the skills and experience to assist people in finding ways to cope with life’s challenges, whatever form these take.

Rachel works collaboratively with clients to help them find ways to develop their own skills to help change perspective, come to terms with situations and approach life feeling more capable and connected. Rachel is skilled in a number of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, and uses her clinical experience to formulate a treatment plan and individualised therapy approach appropriate to each individual client. In her work, Rachel draws on acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness and self-compassion based approaches, and dialectical behaviour therapy, among other psychotherapeutic frameworks. These treatments are all supported by strong evidence bases.

Rachel undertook her clinical research and training at the University of Sydney and the University of Technology as well as at Westmead Hospital, Sydney. Her masters research work investigated relationship difficulties and uncertainty in young adults and her PhD research looked at psychological support and treatment for people dealing with cancer. She has also undertaken research focussed on psychological processes to do with forgiveness.

Rachel welcomes and has experience working with adults of all ages and life stages, including young adults.
